THE GIRL BLESSED WITH ARJUNA’S EYE – Riya Tewatia of DAV Ballabhgarh made the school and the state Haryana proud by exhibiting her mirth for being selected in ‘Asia Cup’.
Riya’s talent in Archery was well observed and harnessed by her coach Mr. Deepak Ahlawat, when she was just nine. This girl with her persistent efforts, devotion, dedication and determination not only won row of medals but also made new records in the field of ‘Archery’. In 2017-18, in 63 National Field Championship, held at Shivpuri in M.P. - she won 5 medals in under 19 category, in 63 Games Federation of India Archery Championship held at Jagdalpur - she won Gold in under 17 category, in 62 SGFI championship (2016-17) Indore - she won gold, silver and bronze medal and at DAV National Archery Championship (2017-18) in Haridwar – she won four gold, one team gold, gold in 70 m and 50 m and one overall gold also.
In all she won 18 medals at National Level and brought to life her as well as her coach’s dream by being selected for Asia Cup, of which stage 1 will be held at Bangkok in Thailand from 3 to 7 March 2018 and stage 2 will be held at Mania (Phillipines) in April.
The Principal Reena Vasisht Kachroo on behalf of the school staff extended her heartfelt wishes to the proud parents, Riya and her coach for their untiring efforts. She also blessed her to form new records in the field of Archery and make the presence of her Country felt.
